Hacked Off

What is Hacked Off? 

  • A campaign for a free and accountable press, established in 2011.
  • Work closely with victims of press abuses. 
  • Not affiliated(connected) to any political party.

How are they relevant to the regulation of newspapers? 
  • This allows newspapers to print whatever they like, as long as it follows the clauses in the IPSO Code of Practice.


What do they want? 
  • Hacked Off are currently campaigning for full industry participation in the Charter system, which offers benefits for news publishers aswell as giving the public improved access to justice and to fair and effective complaints handling.
